7 things to do before I'm 30!

The Lifetime movie, 7 Things To Do Before I'm 30 is on tonight. I'm not interested in looking at it but I just thought I would make my own list of the 7 things I wanted to do before I turned 30.

I'm 20th right now so I got 10 more years to do this

So here's my list.

7-Learn on how to bake.

I love to eat desserts especially cakes. Every weekends, I wil go to Mark and Spencer and buy some desserts such as New York cheesecake, lemon meringue pie and etc. It would be great if I can taste my own desserts. Furthermore, I can bake healthy desserts.

6-Lose Weight.

At the age of 14th, I am the fattest one among my classmates and my weight on that time was 94kg. On 2006, after my late mum passed away, I started to lose weight. Now I am 84kg and I target to reach my ideal weight which is 76kg.

5-Learn on how to play guitar.

I am so envy with those who can play guitar. I wish I can play that instrument. On 2007, I borrowed my cousin's guitar and bought a guitar tutorial book at Kinokuniya Bookstores. I tried to learn it but didn't understand how to read the notes. I dream to compose my own songs.

4- Take acting classes.

This is one of my dreams. Even if its just a small part, I'll take it. will be the happiest man on earth if I can appear at least one scence in Harry Potter as I am one of die-hard fans of that series.

3-Learn Single Ladies-Beyonce dance moves.

I am fall in love with Single Ladies dance moves. If I major this dance moves, I will record it and post it on youtube. I'm sure it will reach more than 1 million viewers. Laugh out loud!

2- Learn on how to play football.

Seriously, I don't know how to play football but desires to play the game. During my school time, my classmates always call me a giant and laugh at me everytime I started to run. Because of this, I have no confidence to play sports games.

1- Improve my English.

English is my second language and I am in a process of learning and improving it. What I have done and should do to improve my English Language? I will talk about it on my next post.

Will I achieve these things before I'm 30? Hopefully! Amen!

Anyway, those are my 7 things to do before I turn 30. Go check out the movie because I'm sure its more interesting than my list.

A Letter to Santa!

Last two days ago, I went to Hamleys, a toy store, situated at Regent Street. I feel very envy with kids these days. The toys get more hi-tech and outrageous, but seriously, some of them make you wonder who the heck comes up with these ideas? To be honest, I have thought of worse, as I am sure some of you have as well! I have do some research about inappropriate toys at The Huffington Post and I would like to share the information with readers.

Let’s pretend that we are a 7-years old kid and writing a Christmas whishlist to Santa Clause. (Just for fun).

Dear Santa,

How are you? I hope you are in a pink of health. You should have been on a diet because Jillian Michaels says carrying an extra bags around is bad for health. If it is hard to drop your bags, you should try to participate in a reality show called The Biggest Loser.

I have been a good boy for this year. For Christmas 2010, I have made a list of toys that I want you to get me and I would be the luckiest kid on earth if receive it. Daddy always makes lists to help him remember stuff, but he loses the lists anyway so I hope you will not lose my list or I will be sad and I know your job is to make kids happy. There are many toys on my list because Mummy tolds me that it is good to have choices in case things did not work. She said that especially when she argue with Daddy.

Okay, so here is my list:

5- Pole Dancer Doll.

Miley Cyrus

I love Miley Cyrus so much. Last year, Mummy already bought me a Hannah Montana doll but recently I watch Teen Choice Awards and this doll reminds me of her performance that night. I heard that this doll has already been banned in the United States and Asia, but I think they still sell it in the United Kingdom. Other way is, you can also buy this at eBay. I heard this doll cause a controversy because of the image of a pole dancer, which is not good for kids to follow. I promise, I won’t be a pole dancer when I grow up.

4- Baby Wee Wee

This wet doll is really cute. I want to have a little brother but Daddy says Mummy is too old to get pregnant again. May be this doll can be my little baby brother. This doll is made by the Spanish toy company called Famosa. The doll was sold in the United Kingdom for about GBP40 a couple years ago, but appears to be purely an eBay item now.

3- Phallus Slide

This slide looks colourful and cool. The shape of the slide looks like errr.. Nevermind, Mummy says it is not good to think about negative stuff. I always dream to have my own slide but Daddy asks me to play slide at playground. I hate to go to the playground because all of my neighbours didn’t like to be friend with me and they always bully me. If only I have my own cool slide like Phallus Slide, all of them will come to my house and treat me good. I’m not sure where you can get this slide, but there is one slide exactly like this at Pedo Park in Spain.

2- Bebe Gloton

Mummy always says, being a mother is really a tough work so I want to see how hard it is. This is a toy doll that simulates breast-feeding. I saw Aunt Marry breast-fed my 6 months cousin Ben. I know I am a boy but I really want to experience on how to breast-feed. You can purchase this doll at any toy store but in case you can’t find it, some people sell them on eBay.

1- Shave the Baby

This doll is on my first list because when I grow up, I want to be a hair stylist. I can dress people’s hair and make them look pretty. Playing with this doll is a first step for me to reach my ambition. This doll is a product from China. I’m sure you can get this at Chinatown.

I hope you can get me one of these toys for my present. It is OK if you can’t choose which one to give me. Sometimes, if I can’t make up my mind between two things, I get both. Mr. Santa, I want to say thank you in advance. By the way, Mummy says Hi and Daddy says Oh Jesus!

Love;

Zamie

P/S: This year we will give you oatmeal cookies because they are healthy and the only cookies Daddy can eat. But I will borrow some chocolate chip ones from my eldest sister and hide them in my stocking for you.

Where There is a Will, There is a Way!

Before this, I wish to credit Youtube, MomLogic and Extraordinary People for the images and videos used here.

First of all, lets watch this amazing video from Youtube.
My dad tagged me this video on Facebook and I was amazed with the magic. I asked myself, "Is there a people in this world live with half a body?" and I start to do some research about it and I found this article entitled 'Rosemarie Siggins- The Woman with Half a Body'.

The article is about Rosemarie Siggins, an American woman who suffers from a rare genetic disorder known as Sacral Agenesis. This disease led to the loss of her legs and the shortening of her spine when she was 2 years old.
Rosemarie Siggins.

Eventhough she is a handicap woman, but she lived in a normal life. She married with Dave in 1999 and gave birth to a healthy boy, Luke and girl, Shelby, with Dr. Wilson's help. No-one else with Sacral Agenesis has ever given birth.
Rosemarie's wedding.

Rosemarie's family.

But life is not always beautiful. Her mother died because of cancer, her father had dementia while her brother who is intellectual equivalent of 8-year old children only. Rose has been getting used to being the centre of the family.
Jimmy, Rosemarie' brother.

In her spare time, she has a passion for fast cars and she fixes up a Mustang ready for the race track.

Rosemarie repairs car.

If you have some free time, watch this short documentary of this incredible woman with half a body, but a very full life. Be inspired and live life!

I came across a story of Cody McCasland at Star-Telegram entitled A Walking Miracle. Cody is a 7th years old boy who was born without any knee bones and had a rare condition as Rosemarie Siggins. His legs ha to be amputated when he was 15 months old. 2 months later, he got his first pair of prosthetic legs. With these, he is not only can walk, but swim, run, play soccer, golf, karate, ice hockey etc.

Cody with his prosthetic legs.

Based on these two stories, I realize that there is no such thing as limitations, they are only in our minds. Instead of expecting others to help Rosemarie, she are the one that helps everyone else. While, Cody is such an amazing kid. They have been a source of inspirations to millions of people in the world and no words of admiration can ever match their grits and their never say die spirits! If they can survive these life, why not us who are perfect human-being.

Killing You Softly!

I read a news titled Anti-Smoking Advice at Funeral at Yahoo website. The news is about a life-long smoker, Albert Whittamore or also known as Dick, died last month at aged of 85 after suffering from emphysema (click on the link to know more about it), progressive disease of the lung that primarily causes shortness of breath. Dick blamed he had the disease because of his smoking habit. His dying wish was honoured when he had the words "Smoking Killed Me" placed on signs in his hearse as he wanted to warn people about the dangerous of smoking.

As we noticed, smoking bring lots of negative impacts to our health. It can causes lung cancer, heart disease, blindness, emphysema, mouth and throat cancer, peripheral vascular disease, amputation and etc, but people still did not realize about the dangerous of smoking. According to World Health Organization (WHO), the top 10 causes of death are:

1- Lower Respiratory Infections
2- Coronary Heart Disease
3- Stroke and Other Cerebrovascular Diseases
4- Chronic bstructive Pulmonary Disease
5- Diarrheal Diseases
6- HIV/AIDS
7- Tuberculosis
8- Trachea, Bronchus, Lung Cancers,
9- Road Traffic Accidents
10- Prematurity and Low Birth Weight

Smoking is not in the list? Yes, this is because smoking is not a disease but smoking causes 7 of the top 10 causes of death in the list above which are coronary heart disease, stroke, lower respiratory infections, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, HIV susceptibility, tuberculosis, lung cancer, prematurity, and low birth weight. These diseases are all in the top 10 causes of death! All these diseases are related to smoking because cigarettes and tobacco products contains carcinogenic and mutagenic substances. This puts smoking as the second major cause of death worldwide!

These are some pictures caused by smoking:

Mouth Cancer

Amputation

Lung Cancer

This video is an animation of the dangers and effects to respiratory system by smoking.

Ex-Health Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Chua Jui Meng, said during his speech at the Grand Opening of H.S.C Medical Centre, that more than 10,000 Malaysians died from smoking-related illnesses every year and 30% of those above the age of 30 suffer from up to 40 kinds of illnesses which include heart problems and 57 types of cancer. He also mentioned that according to World Health Organization (WHO) report, more than 100,000 youths started smoking daily. In Malaysia, government has take a lot of actions to aware people about this death candy such as

'Tak Nak Merokok Campaign' (Say No to Cigarettes),

produced advertisements on printed and electronic media

and even, government has put the picture of the disease on the cigarette's box. Sadly, all these actions are not effective.

I had a conversation with my ex-housemate about this thing. The conversation goes like this:

Me: I'm out to shop.

Friend: Can you get me a pack of cigarette.

Me: What cigarette?
Friend: Marlboro.
Me: Marlboro light, original, menthol or menthol light?
Friend: Original.
Me: 20's? 14's?
Friend: 20's
Me: Soft pack or hard pack?
Friend: Hard.
Me: Lung cancer, mouth cancer, neck cancer, miscarriage, premature birth or gangrene?
Friend: .......

Ok.. I made up this conversation.. hahaha!!

As a conclusion, smoking cause death. Therefore, the only option you have is to quit. Choose to live! Don't let the fear of smoking and the disease take over your life. You can visit this page (people die from smoking/stopsmokingbasics.com) to learn more about this issue.
